On September 21, 2024, at Liberty Central Saigon Riverside Hotel (17 Ton Duc Thang Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), CivilOutsourcing.Com in collaboration with VietCAD and Autodesk, hosted a workshop centered around the theme “Enhance Infrastructural Design Process With Autodesk Civil 3D.” The event provided our engineers with the latest updates on Civil 3D software, alongside the opportunity to share and exchange insights on the application of Civil 3D in international projects.

2. Presentations from VietCAD and Autodesk on the AEC Software Suite
The workshop commenced with a presentation by Mr. Hung Mai, AEC Technical Manager of VietCAD, who introduced the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) software suite. He provided an in-depth overview of the tools, emphasizing features that engineers frequently overlook. Autodesk Docs was particularly highlighted as a tool enabling engineers, designers, and project teams to manage, share, and control documents for construction projects. While this tool has significant utility, we have yet to fully harness its potential.
Following Mr. Hung’s presentation, Ms. Thanh Nguyen, License Compliance at Autodesk, discussed licensing policies, software installation, and usage guidelines. She provided valuable insights into software licensing protocols, regulations for working abroad, and critical security measures. Ms. Nguyen emphasized the risks associated with using pirated software, such as legal violations, lack of updates, and the absence of technical support. We take pride in being a partner of Autodesk, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained across all projects.
3. Practical Sharing from CivilOutsourcing.Com on Applying Civil 3D to International Projects
The workshop continued with a presentation from Mr. Aiden Tong, CEO of CivilOutsourcing.Com, who shared the company’s founding journey and growth. After graduating in civil engineering from one of Vietnam’s top universities and working with companies specializing in international projects, Mr. Tong sought to access the world’s most advanced engineering techniques. This ambition led him to study and work in the U.S., where he gained invaluable experience and insight into the needs of U.S. business owners.
Upon returning to Vietnam, he used his newfound knowledge and passion to establish CivilOutsourcing.Com. His knowledge of utilizing Civil 3D software to its fullest potential, including the use of feature lines for creating accurate surfaces, applying city/county/state standards in drawings, and designing bioretention basins, greatly interested the attendees. He also demonstrated the use of the watershed tool to determine rainwater drainage basin boundaries. The audience, composed of business owners and engineers working on projects in Vietnam, benefitted from a unique opportunity to learn how Civil 3D is applied to international projects.
4. Q&A and Awarding of Autodesk Certificates
The workshop concluded with a lively Q&A session, where attendees eagerly asked questions. Mr. Henry Tran answered each inquiry in detail, offering solutions that could be immediately applied to various project scenarios. For more complex questions, he assured attendees that he would follow up via email.
